Associated Press: Lukashenka asks USA for support and accuses it at the same time
The Belarusian President the USA calls “the last European dictator” has asked 5 billion dollars from the USA, - writes the Associated Press commenting on the recent Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s TV interview. However, the Belarusian leader admitted that he did not hope to receive the money. However, he expressed his certitude in the fact that Belarus would get 2 billion dollars from the IMF. Belarus has received 2 billion dollars from Russia recently. The AP stresses that Minsk has used up all its gold reserves “in a feverish attempt to stabilize the rate of the rouble”. A.Lukashenka also accused the US Embassy of organizing opposition actions, financing the Belarusian opposition and support of “extremist goals” in the same interview.
