Belarus decides to sell Venezuelan crude to U.S.?
240,000 tons of Venezuelan crude were supposed to be shipped for Belarus to Odessa by the end of June. Three tankers were to carry 80.000 tons each, Ukraine's transport and communications minister Konstantin Yefimenko told reporters. But the port of Odessa in Ukraine is expecting only two tankers from Venzuela, the European Radio for Belarus has learned. "The first tanker is somewhere near Dardanelles. It is expected to arrive on June 20. The second will arrive on June 29. But we don't know its current whereabouts. Possibly, it is still at the port of loading", sais a staff member of the Odessa sea port.
So, where is the promised third tanker with the Venezuelan oil? According to independent analyst Siarhei Chaly, it is now in the Gulf of Mexico!. Instead of sailing to Odessa, it is drifting near the U.S. coast. "After the Amalthea tanker departed from Venezuela, it turned to the north and moved towards the U.S. coast, instead of sailing to the East across the Atlantic Ocean. Now it is drifting near New Orlean. To make it clear, I will say that several oil refineries are based at the coast".
Here is the location of the tanker:
Commentators suggest that the cargo can be sold in the U.S., and the money could be used to pay for the Russian oil and gas. But, no official documents to support this version have come into possession of the European Radio for Belarus.
