Belarus dissident's books to be rolled into ground with tractor

The author Alhierd Bakharevich claims that the printrun of his novel "The Dogs of Europe" will be literally buried. He wrote about this on Facebook.
“I found out today what would be done with the confiscated edition of "The Dogs of Europe." Books will be rolled into the ground with a tractor. Memento, quia pulvis es. Tractor driver, step on it,” Bakharevich writes.
In May 2022, the Belarusian Ministry of Information put Bakharevich's dystopia on the list of extremist materials. The book was on examination for more than a year. The printrun was confiscated back in April 2021, and a court ruled on the ban on May 17, 2022. One of the parts of the novel tells about life in Belarus in the future, which is under the complete control of Russia.
The 2017 novel was awarded second place in the Jerzy Giedroyc Literary Award and received several other literary prizes. The Russian version of the novel was shortlisted for the prestigious Russian "Big Book" award. "The Dogs of Europe" was translated into French and English, and a German translation is in progress.
