Belarus to drill oil emulsion in Venezuela?
Belneftekhim, the state-run petrochemical monopoly, reports about new successes in Venezuela.
The company said that it was planned to start drilling oil in Venezuela in December 2007. A joint venture VenBelNafta which has not yet been incorporated is to do the drilling.
However, the quality of the oil is still unclear, because it is very likely that Belarus will be given the so called oil emulsion or a mixture of oil and water. China is known to be an active buyer of this emulsion. The Baltic nations too have experience in processing this mixture.
Belneftekhim would find it difficult to sell the emulsion at the world markets, suggests Financial News Agency (AFN).
