Belarus in gas talks with Moscow
Russia's gas giant Gazprom and Belarus's petrochemical monopoly Beltransgaz are continuing talks to negotiate the price of gas for the first quarter of 2009. However, the fact that this issue has not been resolved yet does not threaten gas supplies to Belarus and gas transit through Belarus, Alexander Medvedev, Gazprom's deputy chairman of board, said in a statement. "Yesterday, (we) agreed how the formula would work, and the Belarusian colleagues went home to approve the formula", Interfax quotes Medvedev as saying.
Interfax notes that different from the situation with gas supplies to Ukraine, Beltransgaz has a contract with Gazprom, so after the price is agreed, payments will be recalculated.
