Belarus GDP in January-April falls 2.6%
Compared with the same period last year, the GDP amounted to 253 trillion 922 billion 600 million rubles.
In January-April 2015, the Belarus GDP decreased by 2.6% compared to the same period last year. It is 253 trillion 922 billion 600 million rubles, BELTA reports referring to the National Statistics Committee.
In the first quarter, the industrial output amounted to 229 trillion 812 billion 100 million rubles. This is 7.5% less compared to the same period in 2014. Positive dynamics was observed only in the chemical industry, where growth amounted to 6%, in oil processing - 1.6%. Other industries experienced a decline in production (the largest - in the manufacture of machinery and equipment (28.2%), Interfax-Zapad reports.
Last year, the volume of industrial production in Belarus increased by 1.9% compared to 2013.
