Belarus may stop selling alcohol to persons under 21

Belarusian MPs propose to ban the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21 years old. This was announced today by a member of parliament Mikalai Ivanchanka at the meeting of Minsk City Executive Committee, which discussed the results of anti-crime and anti-corruption measures in the Minsk region in 2014.

Deputy Ivanchanka is sure that the profits from alcohol production are incommensurate with the harm it inflicts on the country. Belarus does not have an effective program to combat alcohol consumption, so the MP proposes to ban the sale of alcohol to persons under 21 years old. In addition, he proposes to reduce the number of outlets selling alcohol, and also solve the issue of "beer commercials on TV", BelTA reports.
