Belarus plans to receive from Russia six Mi-8 MTV-5 in 2016

By the end of 2016, Belarus plans to get from Russia six military transport helicopters Mi-8 MTV-5. This was stated in an interview to RIA Novosti by Deputy Defense Minister for Armaments, Chief of Armaments of the Armed Forces of our country, Major General Ihar Latsyankou.
In June, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus signed a contract with the holding company Helicopters of Russia for the delivery of 12 Mi-8 MTV-5. Financial issues have already been settled. The first batch of helicopters for Belarus is being produced at the factory in Kazan, said Mr Latsyankou.
Note that the Mi-8 MTV-5 can perform both combat and transport missions. They have modern equipment.
