Belarus to return Russian loans in rubles rather than dollars
The changes were adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation on 13 May.
The Russian government has issued instructions on changes in the loan agreement with Belarus.
According to ria.ru, the agreement covers the Russian state loan of 1.55 billion dollars granted on January 31, 2014.
The Russian government considered it appropriate to exclude from the wording of the document the condition on which Belarus is to repay the loan in dollars.
The official Minsk will repay the loan in 14 equal semi-annual installments on January 15 and July 15 each year. The first payment is to be made on January 15, 2017.
