Belarus-Russia gas negotiations to be held in Moscow today
Belarus-Russia gas negotiations will be held in Moscow on Thursday, October 6. Minister of Energy Uladzimir Patupchyk will represent Belarus, senior deputy Minister of Energy Leanid Shenets said. Belarus is receiving gas ‘according to the existing schedule’’, he told ria.ru.
The price of gas for Belarusian consumers will be discussed in Moscow. The contract price of 133 dollars for 1 thousand cubic meters is unfair, Belarus says. It insists on changing the price (for instance, to $73). Russians are not going to make concessions at the moment (there will be no gas discount, Russian vice PM Arkadi Dvorkovich stressed) and say that Belarus already owes up to $300 million for gas. Minsk refutes the debt.
Our country has significantly increased the oil transfer tariffs for Russia in response to the gas issue.
