Belarus senators okay loan for Cuba
The Council of the Republic today ratified an agreement between the government of Belarus and the government of Cuba to supply 100 Belarus-made MAZ buses and to issue a loan to the island.
According to Mikalai Charhinets, the chairman of the foreign affairs and national security commission, the agreement envisages the shipment of 100 public buses, worth Euro 11,095,000 and a loan of over Euro 9.4 million from BelarusBank. Charhinets explained that the loan would be issued for five years at 8 percent p.a..
The buses will be supplied in five shipments with15 percent of the contract to be wired as a downpayment.
