Belarusian Memorial Chapel in London wins at World Architecture Festival

The bulding of the Belarusian Uniate church also known as Belarusian Memorial Chapel in London was voted the winner in the Religion category at the World Architecture Festival running on 28-30 November in Amsterdam.
The award ceremony took place late Thursday in the Dutch capital. The video from the ceremony was posted on Facebook by Spheron Architects, the company which had designed and built the chapel.
The Belarusian Memorial Chapel was built neat the Belarusian Catholic Mission in London in 2016. This is the first wooden church built in London since 1666. It serves as a memorial to the victims of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
The World Architecture Festival is an annual gathering, one of the key international events in the field of architecture with the awards handed out in 24 categories.
