Belarusian MFA points to rights violations in Poland, Lithuania and Latvia
Belarus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs releases the Human Rights Violations in Certain Countries in 2013 report.
This is the second document of the kind prepared by the Belarusian Ministry. The report describes “the most resonant examples” of human rights violations in the countries that imposed sanctions on Belarus – the USA, EU member states and Canada. The report is said to be based on open sources.
Information about 23 countries is presented in the report. Our neighbouring states, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia are also there. Latvia and Lithuania are mentioned in connection with racial discrimination propaganda and restrictions of the rights of national minorities. Prisoners are tortured in Latvia and people cannot always express their opinion freely in Lithuania. Poland is mentioned because of war propaganda, racial discrimination, neonazism, tortures and random detentions.
