Belarusians are different from Russians on genetic level: research
Belarusians differ from Russians on the genetic level, according to the research of the Russian genetic fund, carried out by the Russian and Estonian genetics experts. The results of the research were published in the January 2008 issue of The American Journal of Human Genetics. According to the report, the Russian ethnos comprises two parts: the local population of the Southern and Central Russia which has ties with the neighboring Slavic people and the representatives of the Finnish-Hungarian group living in the north of the country, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda
