BelGazeta editor-in-chief Ihar Vysotski resigns

Ihar Vysotski has resigned from the position of the editor-in-chief of BelGazeta and has quit the edition, ex-director of the newspaper Andrei Bandarenka told Euroradio.
A new printrun of BelGazeta was delivered to news stalls on the morning of March 19. Kiryl Zhyvalovich is the acting editor-in-chief indicated in the masthead.
"Ihar Vysotski has been offered 300 roubles a month for his work and he has flatly refused to keep working in the position of the editor-in-chief of BelGazeta,” Andrei Bandarenka said.
"Zhyvalovich’s policy is producing a harmful effect on the newspaper,” the ex-director of BelGazeta believes. “As far as I know, one of the main specialists in court reporting Viktar Fyodaravich has already quit the edition. Dzmitry Rastayeu and other journalists have also left.
The proofreader and managing editor have also stopped working. Actually, all the journalists have left. As far as I know, Zhyvalvich has written 70% of the articles since there was nobody else to do it. I do not know who has proofread and helped publish the new printrunt. The situation is very difficult. We cannot influence it. We have done everything we could to save the newspaper. Come what may.”
