Believers ask to announce February 19 day of prayer for political prisoners
The authors of the appeal urge Christians to unite in their prayers for the people who are imprisoned, or may be imprisoned, for their civil convictions.
A group of Christian believers suggested to announce February 19 a day of prayers for political prisoners and addressed to the society in this regard, BelaPAN informs.
Among those who signed this appeal there are Orthodox, Catholics, and Protestants, including a priest Barys Charnahlaz, lawyers Siarhej Lukanin and Dzina Shautsova, civil activists Andrej Kim and Ihar Baranouski, a politician Vital Rymasheuski, Paval Sieviarynets' mother Tatsiana Sieviarynets, a journalist Kastus Shytal, a member of the BCD council Iryna Hubskaya.
It is stated in the appeal, that two months has passed since the brutal dispersal of the peaceful action and mass beating of citizens at the Square. The authors of the appeal urge Christians to unite in their prayers for the people who are imprisoned, or may be imprisoned, for their civil convictions; and for their close people and families.
