Blue and yellow stripes appear in Moscow’s Red Square
The stripes resembling the colors of Ukraine's flag are part of the markings left behind after the Victory Parade in the Russian capital.
Assistant to the President Victor Hrekov has claimed it. The yellow stripe was for fighting troops and the blue one – for military equipment, Echo of Moscow quotes the official.
The stripes looking like the colours of the Ukrainian flag have drawn attention due to the recent incidents in Moscow. Activists painted the star on a high-rise building in Kotelnistakaya Quay in Moscow blue and yellow and hoisted a Ukrainian flag there on Wednesday. A power line was painted blue and yellow in the south-east of Moscow on Thursday. It turned out that workers had done it by mistake.
