Canadian government calls Night Wolves ‘biker gang’
Visa restrictions have been imposed on them.
Canada has published an extended list of Russian physical and legal entities affected by the visa and economic sanctions. Canadian PM Stephen Harper has explained the extension of the list by the situation in Ukraine, BBC reports.
Visa restrictions have been imposed on activists of the Eurasian Youth Union Alexander Dugin, Pavel Konishchev and Andrei Kovalenko. The Eurasian Youth Union, investment company Marshall Capital Fund and motorcycle club Night Wolves (called ‘a biker gang’ in the official document of the Canadian government) have also been blacklisted.
Organizations and enterprises of Russia’s defense and energy sectors are also on the list – the United Aircraft Building Company, Tula Weapon Plant, Oboronprom and association Stankinstrument. Gazprom, Gazpromneft, Surgutneftegaz and Transneft have also been affected by the Canadian sanctions.
Canada has forbidden trade with Crimea that was occupied by Russia last year. Investments, financial services, data transfer and the presence of cruise ships in Crimean ports are not allowed.
The Putin regime will be affected by the sanctions until ‘’the occupation troops are pulled out and Ukraine’s territorial integrity is restored, the Canadian PM claimed.
