CIS Information Council to be held in Minsk

The council of heads of information agencies if CIS member states will be held in Minsk on June 8. It will be part of the X Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future: Legacy of the Great Victory, BELTA reports.

The Information Council was created in November 1995. It consists of heads of information agencies from the eight CIS member states. Belarus is represented by the state information agency BELT., TASS CEO Sergei Mikhailov is the head of the Council.

The main tasks of the Information Council are the creation of favourable conditions for information distribution, exchange of professional experience, recommendations on the fulfilment of common decisions in the information sphere and promotion of the development of international telecommunications in the CIS.
