‘Competent authorities’ to study Shahtsyor’s goalkeeper’s statement
The Belarusian Football Federation has made an official statement today, on January 16.
The statement says: “Taking into account the FIFA rules aimed at protecting fair competition and punishing those who try to affect the results of matches in an unethical way not accepted in sport, the Belarusian Football Federation officially announces that competent authorities are already studying the mentioned statement and all the details of Dynama Minsk – Dynama Brest match played on November 4, 2006.”
Salihorsk Shahtsyor goalkeeper Yury Tsyhalka told goals.by:
"BATE needed Dynama Minsk to lose points,” goals.by quotes the ex-goalkeeper of Dynama Brest Yury Tsyhalka. “People from Barysau arrived before the match. They stimulated us. Probably, they did not believe that we were able to leave Dynama Minsk without points so they did not tell us the sum. They just said: ‘Guys, be sure that we will thank you’. The final score was 0:0. BATE became the champion. They gave us the promised money after the match. It was about $200 per person.”
FC BATE head addressed fans and the football community yesterday. He urged the Belarusian Football Federation to investigate the case and “either refute or prove Yury Tsyhanka’s words.
