Concert in support of Belarus to take place in Warsaw
A concert “Culture Against Dictatorship” will be given in Warsaw. “Radio Polska” will organize it. The names of the bands that will arrive in the Polish capital on January 16 have not been announced yet. One of the initiators, Ihar Znyk, notes that it is a way to show the Belarusian culture to Poles and to express solidarity with political prisoners and independent mass media that are under pressure and are suffering from the authorities’ repressions after the election.
"The culture is something that can be used to fight this regime – this is something it fears most”, - noted Znyk.
The concert will take place in the concert hall of Radio Polska “S1” at 7 p.m. on January 16. According to Ihar Znyk, about 450 people will be able to attend the concert. Tickets are already available.
All the money made on the concert will be sent to the editorial office of the independent edition “Nasha Niva” searched by KGB members who confiscated all the office equipment. Moreover, concerts in support of political prisoners and victims of the regime will be given in Warsaw on January 14 and 15 with the help of Belarusians, reports Radio Racija.
