Details of Uralkali CEO's meeting with Belarus PM
Myasnikovich had allegedly accused Baumgerten of 'breaking up the Union state" before security agents stopped the Russian businessman at the airport.
Vladislav Baumgerten arrived in Minsk in the evening of Monday with no big delegation accompanying him. The meeting with Belarusian prime minister was scheduled for 1100, reports Russian business daily Kommersant. The newspaper's anonymous source claimed that Uralkali CEO and Belarus prime minister Mikhail Myasnikovich had spoken for about one hour. The meeting had been far from being constructive. Basically, the conversation boiled down to premier's monologue, accusing personally Vladislav Baumgertner and Uralkali of destroying the union state, according to Kommersant's source.
However, there was no talk about any criminal charges. Right after the meeting at the House of the Government, Vladislav Baumgertner headed to the airport in order to fly out to Moscow. During security checks at the airport, he was told that additional checks were needed, because "he was possibly carrying narcotics." The Russian was detained and taken into custody.
