Domracheva wins Champions Race mixed relay
Belarus' Darya Domracheva picks gold together with Russia's Anton Shypulin in the mixed relay event.
A team consists of a man and a woman in the mixed relay. The woman takes part in the first two stages and the man – in the last two. Domracheva and Shypulin left the French duet (Marie Dorin Habert and Martin Fourcade) behind by only 1.5 seconds. Gabriela Soukalová (Czech Republic) and Simon Schempp (Germany) came third.
The victory was ‘thrilling’, Darya Domracheva confessed after the relay.
“I have finally won the Champions Race. The whole season was successful for me and it has ended successfully. It motivates me to get ready for the next season,” the sportswoman told R-sport.
Darya Domracheva came third in the mass start on April 5.
