DPR leader: Donets Basin is Novorossiya and USSR’s daughter (video)
The extravagant speech of Donetsk Oblast ‘people’s governor’ Pavel Gubarev has become an Internet hit.
A DPR leader, so-called ‘people’s governor’ Pavel Gubarev has made a sensational statement: Donets Basin is the daughter of Novorossiya and the Soviet Union. The DPR activist said it in an interview with the separatist TV channel Novorossiya. An extract from the speech was uploaded to YouTube:
“Donets Basin is Donets Basin. Novorossiya is Novorossiya, it is Donets Basin. It is Donets Basin here. According to history, Novorossiya is the daughter of Little Russia and the Russian Empire… this is how it is. Donets Basin is the daughter of Novorossiya and the Soviet Union. We have a labour movement, industry and industrialization here.”
Pavel Gubarev’s geopolitical statement is vague for the majority of people commenting on the video and for the presenter of the separatist TV channel who looked a bit embarrassed.
