Election re-run required in one constituency

The local election will be re-run in one constituency, Central Election Commission said on Monday adding that the candidates ran for a seat on a district council. The name of the district and the reason for relection re-run were not revealed. There is no lower threshold for turnout at local elections in Belarus.
Euroradio has found out that the constituency in question is Sukharukskaya constituency No 13 where the candidates were running for a seat on the Minsk District Council. Two of the candidates have scored the equal number of votes – Alyaksandr Hrechny and Vasil Kalmacheuski.
The local election took place in Belarus on February 18. The record turnout (for local elections) was recorded during the early voting stage – almost 35%.
