European Commission suggests allocating 200 million euro to Belarus

The European Commission has suggested allocating 200 million euro of macrofinancial assistance to Belarus. Our country asked for it in June.
A European commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner informed about it at a session in Strasbourg.

She claimed that the decision had to be approved by the Parliament but did not specify on what terms Minsk would get the assistance – it will be either a credit or aid.

Ferrero-Waldner also informed that the EU was going to increase the financing of programs that would be realized in our country in 2010-1013.
