Father takes 5-months-old daughter hostage in Baranavichy
A case about taking an unusual victim hostage has been considered in our country for the first time in Baranavichy. A father took his 5-months-old daughter hostage.
The wife of a 26-year-old inhabitant of the district centre called the police because of a family quarrel. When the district police officer arrived, the man caught hold of a fork and pointed it at his daughter’s neck demanding that he should leave. The policeman asked for help. When his colleagues were entering the flat, the father concentrated on them and the district police officer managed to take away the fork from him. The daughter was also taken away from her father.
A verdict has been pronounced to the man recently – he has been sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment. The 18-year-old wife of the criminal said that the verdict was too strict.
