Former official "mines" town hall in Vicebsk region

An unidentified man yesterday called the town hall in Senno, Vicebsk region in the northern Belarus and said that there was a bomb in the building. Authorities immediately evacuated the staff, reports ERB correspondent Yadviga Stashewskaya from Vicebsk.

Demolition experts, called from Vicebsk, spent the whole day looking for explosives and failed to locate any bomb.

Meanwhile, police arrested the man who decided to threaten the local authorities. He was identified as the former chief of youth affairs department at the same town hall.

Several years ago he was removed from his position allegedly due to drinking-problem and had to get employed as an ordinary teacher in a rural school. Apparently, he did not like his new job and wanted to revenge to his former collegues. Police have opened a criminal case into the matter.
