Former suspects in organization of explosions in Vitsebsk are given compensations for 6 months in confinement cell
The major was arrested and taken to the confinement cell in July. However, the information about a new suspect in the case of explosions in Vitsebsk appeared only several days ago – after the Office of Public Prosecutor prolonged the term of Andrei Dzyamidau’s detention for two more months, till November 19. He is officially accused of “preserving explosives according to a previous arrangement” (part 3 of art. # 195 of the Criminal Code). However, according to the KGB major’s wife Natallya Dzyamidava, the investigators are checking the version of his implication in the organization of the explosions.
Natallya Dzyamіdava: “The version of his implication in the explosions in 2005 is being checked. I was beside him on that day and my hair stands on end because of the accusations”.
According to the wife, the reason for the arrest of the KGB major was the evidence of a Vitsebsk inhabitant Hlushakou. Cartridges, explosives and other weapons were found in his garage. The lawyer of Andrei Dzymidau Mihail Zamalin says that the black “archeologist’ Hlushakou is trying to remain above suspicion.
Mіhaіl Zamalіn: “He gave evidence that he did not preserve the things himself, he said it was an order of major Dzyamidau he had connection with”.
Hlushakou is in custody in the same confinement cell major Dzyamiday is. According to the lawyer, they have already had a confrontation. However, its results are still unknown but the lawyer is sure that the investigation does not have enough evidence to return the major guilty.
Mіhaіl Zamalіn: “I think the investigation lacks evidence of Dzyamikdau’s connection to the storage in that garage”.
Moreover, Natallya Dzymidava says that the searches conducted by the police did not give any result.
Natallya Dzyamіdava: “They searched my flat, and my parents’ and my brother’s flats in Zaslauye. Nothing was found, no cartridges”.
According to her, the major is forbidden to meet his relatives and letters to him or from him do not get to their addressees. The lawyer of the detained confirmed it.
Mіhaіl Zamalіn: “The investigator has not allowed the wife and the mother a meeting with Dzymidau. Speaking about correspondence, it is not forbidden officially. However, he sent 8 letters to his wife and she received only 2. She wrote 9 letters but he got only two from her and one from his mother”.
The lawyer informed ERB that colleagues of the arrested major sent an appeal asking not to prolong the term of his detention. They promised he would not run away. But the Office of Public Prosecutor did not listen to them.
Meanwhile, ERB found out that the brothers Murashka’s who were suspects in the case of explosions in Vitsebsk are acquitted. They even got some compensation for having spent six months in the confinement cell. Yura Murashka refused to tell us the sum of money that was paid to him.
Yura Murashka: “Taking into account all the existing precedents the sum is enough”.
Tyry Murashka also flatly refused to tell whether they experienced some moral or physical pressure during the detention. He only said he was dreaming about forgetting it all as soon as possible. It is difficult to predict how this “nightmare” may end for major Dzyamidau. But if he get acquitted he may also receive “a sufficient” compensation.
