Fortune-teller swindles Br150 million out of Minsker (photo)
The suspect has been detained and the police are looking for other victims now.
A Minsker reported a swindle to Frunze District department for the Interior. The woman said that she had lost Br150 million.
A gypsy approached the woman at a bus stop. She said that the woman was experiencing many difficulties and offered to turn away the evil eye from her. The gypsy persuaded the woman to meet two hours later and bring valuables and money from home.
The women agreed to meet in Kalvaryiskaya Cemetery. The gypsy conducted a purifying ritual there and said that she needed to purify the valuables too. She said that she would bring them back a day later. But the gypsy disappeared.
The police found the swindler soon. They did not manage to arrest her immediately – the foreigner fled. She was caught in Babruisk. The 34-year-old woman had previous convictions for thefts and swindle. The gypsy was delivered to Minsk.
