March 25 is the Freedom Day. The independence of the Belarusian People’s Republic was declared in Minsk on this day in 1918. Belarusians traditionally mark this day with meetings and manifestations with white-red-white flags in Belarus and abroad.
The Freedom Day will be marked in Minsk on March 25. Minsk City Executive Committee has allowed the action: participants will gather near the cinema house October from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. The manifestation towards Bangalore Square is appointed for 4 p.m. (until 5 p.m.). The meeting in the Park of Peoples’ Friendship wills start at 6 p.m. The main aim of the action is to protect independence and peace and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The date is not officially marked in Belarus.
