Freeloaders tax decree is almost ready to be signed by Lukashenka
Every citizen must compensate for the state’s expenses on the social sphere, the government believes.
The so-called ‘freeloaders decree’ will soon be presented to Alyaksandr Lukashenka. “The document is in its final stage,” deputy Belarusian PM Natallya Kachanava told Belarus-1.
Many citizens underestimate the fact that the state does a lot in the social policy and every citizen must compensate for the expenses, Kachanava thinks.
Meanwhile, the possibility of increasing the pension age is not considered at the moment, the official noted. “The situation is not that critical, it is under control,” BELTA quotes Natallya Kachanava.
The discussion of a tax for citizens who do not officially work anywhere started in 2013. However, the corresponding decree is about to be signed only now. It is not clear who will be called ‘a freeloader’ and how they will be punished. On the one hand, ‘freeloaders’ are asocial citizens and on the other hand – they are citizens who receive their wages in envelopes and do not pay taxes, Minister of Taxation Syarhei Nalivaika used to claim.
