Georgia's Saakashvili in surprise Ukraine visit
Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili unexpectedly arrived in Kiev on Friday in order to congratulate his Ukrainian colleague Victor Yanukovich with 60th birthday anniversary.
The Ukrainian media remind that Saakashvili is a relative of ex-president Victor Yushchenko. During the 2010 presidential elections, Saakashvili backed Yanukovich's rival Yulia Tymoshenko.
Russian president Dmitry Medvedev is also expected to join the festivities, although his relations with the presidents of Belarus and Georgia has been sour.
Yulia Tymoshenko also congratulated Yanukovich in an article in the Kommersant-Ukraine business daily. She wished him to leave his trace in the history of the country and to become a true statesman who protects the interests of the people.
