Government likely to raise pensions from Feb 1

The Ministry of Labor has proposed to the government to raise pensions effective from February 1, 2008. The Council of Ministers has reportedly issued a preliminary approval for the tabled proposal.
Belarus Labor and Social Security Minister Uladzimir Patupchyk noted that it the country's economy met 2008 development targets, it would allow the wages, pensions and social security payments to grow this year, writes Zvyazda newspaper
