Hrodna librarians organize picnic for city dwellers (photo)
The library has organized a picnic for adults where one could read and exchange books and dance like in the 19th century.
Hrodna inhabitants had a chance to read in the open air, exchange books and discuss their favourite writers at a book picnic near the New Castle. The picnic was organized by Karski regional scientific library on Sunday, August 2.
More than a hundred Hrodna inhabitants came to the meeting in Zamkavaya Street to support the initiative. Most of them were adults. The picnic was meant for them. The library wanted to remind people about the joy and benefit of reading paper books. Fictions, scientific literature and magazines were displayed in several glades. The guests could exchange their own books and saw pictures from famous Hrodna photographers’ private collection ‘Life in a flash’.
The atmosphere was created with the help by 19th-century dances. A master class was organized by the professional dance group Traditional Culture Community.
