Famous hockey coach Victor Tikhonov dies at 84
The Soviet ice hockey coaching legend Victor Tikhonov died in Moscow.
The legendary Soviet hokey coach died in Moscow on Monday night.
The USSR national team and the United team won Olympic medals with Tihonov’s help in 1984, 1988 and 1992. The hockey specialist helped the USSR team win at world championships eight times. Tihonov’s CSKA won the USSR Championship 13 times, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian President Vladimir Putin condoled with Tihonov’s friends and relatives.
