Ivan Kulikou suspected in embezzling of 22 million roubles?
A 61-year-old doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, a professor Ivan Kulikou is incriminated to have embezzled the finance of the "United Institute of Nuclear and Energetic Research " Sosny" of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus for the sum of 22,3 million roubles. The former presidential contender has been charged of having committed a crime prescribed by Part 3 Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (embezzling by the means of misuse of the official position, in large scope), a week ago.
"Ejednevnik" informs that, according to the investigation materials, Kulikou kept two inhabitants of Minsk in the official staff of his laboratory since April 17, 2000 till June 4, 2008. They did not work there in fact, they were just officially recorded as employees with corresponding salaries. According to the law enforcement agencies' information, Ivan Kulikou received salaries instead of them.
