Kastusyou: Popular Front puts responsibility on authorities for protest dispersal
Ryhor Kastusyou, former presidential candidate from Belarusian Popular Front, responded to questions from the media in the evening of December 20. He says Belarus state television journalists asked him provocative questions.
Kastusyou: “But I did not mention any name, and I did not give my assessment of any presidential candidate. I treat them as victims”.
Describing the events of December 19, Kastusyou said it was very likely that provocations had been masterminded by special services:
“The election headquarters of Belarusian Popular Front party condemns the massive falsifications of elections by the Belarusian authorities as well as provocations and a brutal dispersal of peaceful protests in Minsk. We reckon that the results of elections, ensured by such violent actions, cannot be recognized as free and fair by the Belarusian society or the international community”.
The Party of Belarusian Popular Front is putting responsibility on the authorities", added Kastusyou.
