Kozulin's supporters invite interior minister for TV debates

Ihar Rynkevich, a former lawyer for political prisoner Alexander Kozulin, on March 25 filed a letter with Belarus Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau, proposing to meet at TV debates to discuss the issue of political prisoners and the possibility of freeing Alexander Kozulin. The letter was also copied to Yan Sakalouski, the director of the National Press Center and Aliaksandr Zimouski, the chairman of the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company. "I regard Navumau as a "lawyer" for Alexander Lukashenka and one of the main prosecutors against Kozulin to hold open televised debates", Ihar Rynkevich stated. "We, lawyers and human rights defenders, wish to prove to the interior minister who numerously stated that there are no political prisoners in Belarus, that it is not true. We have enough evidence to demonstrate that Alexander Kozulin has been staying for two years in jail unlawfully".

According to Rynkevich, his team has almost exhausted the legal means in order to resolve Kozulin's issue. Several Kozulin's supporters are on hunger strike, demanding to free the politician.
