Kuchma: Putin presented Ukraine and West with ultimatum
The Russian President is not going to stick to Minsk agreements, the former Ukrainian President announced.
Vladimir Putin has presented Ukraine with an ultimatum and is behaving as if there are no Minsk agreements, official Kiev’s representative in the trilateral contact group Leonid Kuchma announced.
"We have been presented with an ultimatum,” UNIAN quotes Kuchma. “We should either accept Putin’s terms and stop all the resistance or our country will stop existing s an independent state.”
The Russian President has shown that he will stop at nothing to reach his goals in Ukraine. He does not care about expenses and losses. Moscow has presented Kiev and the whole Western world with an ultimatum, the ex-President of Ukraine believes.
According to the agreements reached in Minsk in February, the fire in Donets Basin was supposed to be ceased and the heavy artillery had to be withdrawn. However, militants attacked Debaltsevo right after the agreements had been signed and forced Ukrainian troops to break out from the pocket. Regular Russian troops took part in the operation and Russia keeps sending heavy artillery and arms to Donets Basin, Ukraine claims.
