Laura Bush calls to defend women's rights in Belarus
US First Lady Laura Bush has called to defend the rights of women who, in her view, face supression in Belarus, Myanmar, Cuba and other countries.
She said in a statement on March 7 during a ceremony devoted to the International Women's Day, reports the Russian news agency Ria-Novosti.
"When we celebrate this International Women's Day, we cannot forget our sisters in the other parts of the workd where they are still supressed by the hard-line regimes of their governments", Laura Bush said.
