Leftist parties reprimanded
The Belarus Ministry of Justice has charged the leftist opposition parties -- Women's Party "Nadzeja", the Party of Communists and the Social Democratic Party "Hramada" with violating their statues. The Justice Ministry has issued written warnings to all of the three parties for staging the founding congress of the Union of Leftist Parties in December 2006 in the neighboring Ukraine.
According to the ministry, the Belarus laws ban the political organizations registered in Belarus from carrying out their activities on the territories of foreign nations.
The parties can be closed down after receiving two written warnings, reports Telegraf news agency.
