Lesley Knife: Dictatorships get destroyed, while metal lives!
Gods Tower declared themselves "metallists from the moor", while big Alyaksandr Pamidorau went in for... stage diving!
"I attended the concert of Gods Tower for the first time in 1996, and now it's 2011 and nothing has changed for 15 years. It was cool and so it is now" - says the viewer of the presentation of the album "Steel Says Last" in Minsk. - They are just awesome! Indeed, they are in the first echelon in the world!
There were no comments of other kind among the audience of the concert of the legendary metal band Gods Tower in Minsk club Re:Public. Everyone was in awe.
"There is no doubt about what Gods Tower is! This is the best metal band in our country, another trademark of Belarus, – showman and singer Alyaksandr Pamidorau shares his impressions about the concert. He got so carried away that jumped from the stage right onto the slim youngsters and girls, who jumped aside due to unexpectedness of it all and let the singer fall on the floor instead of catching him. – This is the trademark style... The guys once told me that they would finish all this after this album. However, I think this is not the end, as this is an alive squad with perfect performances. This is an ideal! There are just two bands in the world, as far as I know, the initiators of the pagan metal - the Belarusian Gods Tower and the Finnish Amorphis".
Let us remind you, the band was on a creative vacation for nearly 10 years, since 2001. The almost ready album "Steel Says Last" got frozen, and was released just recently. The musicians showed their new program in a short tour around Ukraine and Moldova, and after that Lesley Knife stated that he had felt like a real metallist from the moor and he liked such life-style. Therefore, it is unlikely that Gods Tower released an album to bid farewell to their fans.
"It seems to me that Gods Tower are living their second youth now, – comments editor of the portal "Tuzin Hitou" Syarhej Budkin. – The Knife (lead singer Lesley Knife - Euroradio) said here on the stage that they had a critical attitude to re-union a year ago, but now they have another opinion. I agree with that as today it was the same Gods Tower that the one I heard 12 years ago".
Gods Tower got several curtain calls and it could have lasted forever if it wasn't for the time limit. When the concert was over, Lesley walked among the fans for about an hour, taking pictures, giving autographs, and saying "Dictatorships get destroyed, while metal lives!”
"I think that today it was the best concert of Gods Tower,in which I ever took part, – says the youngest member of the band guitarist Zmitser Lazarenka. –It was terrific! A whole load of positive emotions! I like it so much, this is great".
