Liechtenstein freezes $1.3 bn on Yanukovich’s accounts
The accounts of 20 people from his milieu have also been blocked.
This information was revealed by Ukraine's acting Prosecutor General Oleh Mahnitski who referred to the official statement of Liechtenstein authorities. The financial accounts belonging to Ukrainian ex-President Victor Yanukovich and dozens other people have been blocked. Both Yanukovich’s sons and officials accused of committing crimes in Ukraine are among them.
Victor Yanukovich and numerous officials have been hiding in Russia for several months. Yanukovich and his circle are using the money stolen from the state to fund militants in the east of the country, the Ukrainian authorities claimed.
