Locket with Mother of God and three groshes found in future NPP building site
Archeologists have found a Catholic locket with the Black Madonna of Częstochowa, 3 groshes, tiles and ceramics dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. A member of the expedition Zoya Harytanovich has informed ERB about it.
The research in Astravets District has been conducted for almost a year. Archeologists are looking for historical valuables before the construction of the NPP. Specialists have already examined several small objects. Among them is the station’s building site and the territory where NPP employees’ houses will be built.
“The main task of the last expedition was to conduct small-scale rescue archeological digs in the outskirts of an urban village Astravets on the bank of the river Kavalyouka”, - said the head of the last expedition Vadzim Lakiza in an interview with ERB.
According to him, archeologists will send all discovered items to the museum of local lore that is going to be created in Astravets.
