Lukashenka: Belarus will become a great hockey nation
Alexander Lukashenka today in Minsk awarded Rene Fazel, the president of the International Ice Hockey Federarion, with this country's highest sports prize, the medal of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
The head of the state noted that the decision to hand out this award was timed with the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian hockey and also because of "the revolutionary contribution of Rene Fazel into the development of this sport". During the meeting, Lukashenka said:
"I am confident that in several years Belarus will become a great hockey nation by having taken a decent place in the relevant ratings. The government in this country does everything in order to make this country a world-level hockey nation", reports Belapan.
