Lukashenka: I had a white-red-white flag on my car
On Tuesday, the Belarusian state leader participated in the opening ceremony of the construction of a residential complex for the scientific and creative elite "Magister".
The state leader has told about the project of creation of the State Flag Square near the Independence Palace n the Peramozhtsau Ave in Minsk.
Among the other things, he spoke about his attitude to the white-red-white flag that used to be a state symbol in Belarus in 1991-1995. "I had a white-red-white flag on my car," Interfax-West quotes Alyaksandr Luakshenka. - However, I have always liked these [current] symbols better. For me, these symbols represent the soul of the people." Lukashenka has reminded that the new symbols were adopted at the referendum.
