Lukashenka: Price control to remain in the country forever (video)

On December 26,  Alyaksandr Lukashenka held a meeting on current economic issues. At the meeting, he said that the tendency to control prices in the country will remain forever.

Lukashenka said he will not allow for price hikes after the New Year. As reported earlier, the Trade Ministry introduced the so-called "moratorium" -- a ban to raise the prices of goods until 15 January.

"Some of our stupid officials, as I was told, and I am convinced of it now, entrepreneurs, businessmen and all sorts of crooks tell people to be patient, wait until the 9th, 15th. They said they would let go of everything then and then people would get the money they had missed. I want to say that the tendency to control the prices in the country will remain forever," BELTA reported words of Lukashenka.

The Head of State said that sellers will not be allowed to raise prices after January 15. He also said that Belarus can go on without new commercial enterprises. "But those that are functioning, will be forced to work as they should. I have already said, if they have not heard, or the government did not understand it - 2-3% of profit. We'll get each type of product under control, particularly the imported goods,"  said Lukashenka.
