Lukashenka gathers ad hoc Council of Republic session
President Lukashenka's edict orders to gather the Council of the Republic in order to clear way for criminal prosecution against a senator.
The session will be held in Minsk on August 14, according to Decree #409 of August 11 published on the National Legal Portal.
The session will be held ‘for solving the issue of allowing the criminal prosecution of a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and other issues’, the document says. The person’s name is not indicated there.
