Milinkevich-led For Freedom movement to join public council under president
The For Freedom movement, led by Alexander Milinkevich, has agreed to join the public and consultative council, established at the Office of the President, Viktor Karnyayenka, a deputy movement chairman, told Belaruskaya Delovaya Gazeta.
He reckons this step will allow "to take use of new opportunities for the sake of the country". Karnyayenka also said a lot depends on what kind of decisions the council is going to make.
Charter-97 reminds that the council is chaired by Uladzimir Makei, the head of the presidential administration. Apart from Alexander Milinkevich, the following representatives from the opposition camp have been invited: Stanislau Bahdankevich, Alexander Yarashuk, Leanid Zaika, Uladzimir Karagin, Aleh Gulak, Aleh Trusau, Alexander Patupa, Aleh Manayeu and Uladzimir Nistsuyk.
